1. Computer:

A computer is a general- purpose electronic machine invented to help people solve

various problems.

Computer must be programmed by human beings to perform various tasks.

2. Candid Solution:

All the possible solutions of a problem that produce correct result are known as candid solutions.

3. Algorithm:

Algorithm is a step-by step problem solving method that is easy to understand and follow. It is a set of steps that clearly defines a sequence of operations to solve a problem.

4. Flow Chart:

It is a diagrammatic representation of algorithm. it describes what operations

are required to solve a given problem.

5. Flow Line:

It is a line with arrow head used to connect various flowchart symbols and indicates the flow of control in the flow chart.

6.Start / Stop Symbol:

It is rounded rectangular shape symbol. It is used to indicate the start or end of a flow chart. We can only write the words Start or Stop inside the symbol.

7. Input / Output Symbol:

It represents input or output operations in a flowchart. Parallelogram symbol is used for this purpose. READ or INPUT commands are used in the programming language for this operation.

8. Process Symbol:

It is used for any mathematical calculation. A rectangular symbol is used for this purpose.

For example: SUM = A + B

9. Decision Symbol:

It is used to take any decision, a diamond shaped symbol is used for this purpose. It must contains a condition.

10. Connector Symbos:

These symbols are used to connect one part of a flowchart to the other on the same page(On-Page connector) or on the new page (Off-Page connector).

11. Sequential Structure:

It refers to the execution of operations in the order in which they appear.
